The 30-second body scan nobody on Zoom will notice.

Classic body scans want you lying down for 10 minutes. That's not the meeting you're in. This version runs head-to-feet in four stops — jaw, shoulders, hands, belly — eyes open, camera on, in real time. Releases cached tension without changing your facial expression.

The 4-stop scan

  1. Jaw.Notice your jaw. Unclench. Let your tongue fall off the roof of your mouth.
  2. Shoulders.Notice where they are. Probably up near your ears. Drop them. Just an inch.
  3. Hands.Notice your hands. Unfreeze the fingers. If you've been gripping the mouse, ease off.
  4. Belly.Notice your belly. If it's pulled in (it probably is), let it soften. Breathe into it once.

Why it works
